Thanks for the feedback
Your comment about the star trails is interesting as I actually went to massive palaver (70 shot stack!) to get them there rather than it being a byproduct of a long exposure. I was looking at a 'commended' shot in some landscape POTY competition the other day and was quite like one of mine but with no trails and it did make me wonder why I bother - the bridges are all well lit so balancing the exposures to also get the star trails in is actually quite tricky and time consuming. Maybe time to move on!
I hadn't realised how much went in to that shot. I know that light trails are a thing people like to take pictures of, but I've never seen the attraction of them myself. Similar to the seascapes and waterfalls with smoothed out with long exposures, it's not what I would have seen if I was there at the time.Your comment about the star trails is interesting as I actually went to massive palaver (70 shot stack!) to get them there rather than it being a byproduct of a long exposure. Take no notice of me though, the stuff I shoot is just as contrived (as indeed is most art)

Still practicing but this is one of my better capture's from a recent trip to North Wales, Llyn Idwal. C&C welcomed, Cheers.
I'd have moved forward a litle more and cut out that foreground grass on the left , or at least cloned some of it out

Nothing special but since buying a Canon G3X for my daughter I can't just help stealing it for a few elicit shots. My Powershot SX220 could never do anything like that. Been browsing under the bed covers and the new EOS M6 might be a good upgrade to the SX220. I still need my new camera to be something "snappy" size wise for trying to squeeze into a pocket. It's a steep learning curve.
PS Before you ask if that was a raw shot, no, they were slightly simmered.

What do you think of the trails? Worth the effort or just a distraction?
Opinions welcomed

Iam more of a lurker on this thread (cant you tell)
Love the trail pics over your bridges. Not a distraction.
Now if you just go up the road and do the same over Bass rock, that,d be nice!
Used to holiday in Musselburgh and miss the place.
Opinions welcomed

A few more recent attempts from me, the first has little going on from a composition point of view and was taken at a local estate lake with Mow Cop castle in the distance.
The Banjo Pier at Looe, Cornwall.
One of the many waterfalls at Llyn Idwal, Snowdonia.
Lumsdale Falls, Matlock.
C&C welcomed as always.

The others are fine but I particularly like the first one.
I think you will find that if you use Flickr instead of Thumbsnap the pics on here will look better.
Thanks, it was taken the morning after storm Doris, I was heading home after a night shift and the light was lovely so I grabbed the camera and headed out.I think you will find that if you use Flickr instead of Thumbsnap the pics on here will look better.
I've got a Flickr account so I will use that in future, cheers.

Interesting colour palette. And once the cranes are gone that's likely to be a super-clean looking structure ... but I'm not sure whether it will have "character".I stumbled across a YouTube video earlier that had some shots of the building the (now) "old" road bridge.

Mentioned just after the 12 minute mark.
Not a hi-viz jacket to be seen ....

'Interesting' is an interesting way of putting it It's Velvia of course - at the end of my processing I whacked the saturation down about 30% so it could have been worse! Agreed on the character comment - it's my least favorite of the 3 bridges... not a minger as such just not as pretty as the other two.I stumbled across a YouTube video earlier that had some shots of the building the (now) "old" road bridge.
