The sun was doing a nice thing on the walk home from work today. I love having my X-T2 with me every day and just letting the Velvia film sim do most of the work... not to everyone's taste, but it's how it looked in my head (I have very saturated eyes, alright?!).

Different to your usual style Rob - almost as though you've been taking tips from Mr Bullen. Lovely shot.

Cheers mate, I'm packing a 70-300L at the moment so shooting a lot more of this detail/comp kinda thing. Found the 70-200/2,8 just never gets out.

Had to look twice when you said it was shot with a 70-300. Just goes to show that, with the right eye & equipment, you can still shoot cracking landscape shots with any combination of kit.

The -L is notably better than the stock 70-300 that most of us cut our teeth on, by all accounts.

But it still amounts to the right eye to spot and then capture the image, and the determination to put yourself in the right place / right time to get the opportunity...

Tele landscapes can be fantastic, I seriously under shoot them but fixed with the 70-300, which was bought mostly for pano's but am living the ability to isolate comps

I'm surprised at just how good it is. its relatively slow but for landscapes that doesnt matter, and doesnt come with a tripod collar which is a pain, I'll pick up a copy one on ebay. Love the IQ, the compactness the zoom lock (until I forget I have it locked..)

Having just looked up the price of said tripod collar I'm not surprised you will be seeking an unbranded version.
