Backing up photo & video while on the move - what tech?

I used an Asus tablet for this (until things got serious and I bought a MacBook), it was a bit slow to copy but worked fine with 21mp raw files (although you see the jpg preview) and played GoPro footage just fine. It only had 32gb storage, but a mini-SD slot as well so I could backup there if needed.
