Think of all the smaller tress and other plants that this tree would have murdered over the centuries by depriving them of water and light, nitrogen and CO2, etc.
Still think big is always beautiful?
Moreover were it to die naturally it could fall any which way and cause catastrophic havoc in its surroundings. A managed solution to that problem is surely preferable is is not?

I blame the ridiculously narrow slot in which the edit window works between the browser menus, the upper PH advertising area and loss of screen lines at the bottom of the screen with the footer banner and, well, space. You just can't see the end of the message sometimes. Oh for "smart" forum software .... or maybe not, come to think of it.
Still, not as bad as trying to battle the lack of scrolling when typing in Office 365 - that really annoys me.
That and what appears to be some sort of random sensitivity of the touchpad on my laptop that sees the cursor jumping all over the place for no identifiable reason at all. I think it may work on the basis of proximity rather than touch. An undocumented feature as far as I know.

No wood actually burns. It just emits gases which burn when you heat it up enough, IIRC...
No it's OK - I can find my own way to the ....
You can put out a cigarette or a match quite easily with liquid petrol (but please don't try it), the trick is not igniting the vapour first

In my defence, I was in the Cowper Arms at the time of posting. You know the Cowper Arms Mickk. It's the one where you parked your car across TWO disabled parking spaces one Sunday morning.
That Cowper Arms.
...Ah wait, was that the day you locked yourself out of your car?
