Something slightly peculiar ....

The eBay Canon Outlet site is offering an EOS M2 (The model that is Asia only apparently).

I wonder why they would have that?

Improved focusing and Wi-Fi available together with some other changes including a smaller body. Wi-Fi allows use of the Canon remote camera control app.

Not cheap as chips though. But nor are the regular M offerings they are showing.

so i just spent an evening with Eos M in Beijing and I have to say I'm very pleased.
I bought it in Argos on Thu just before going away so I will stop wondering which small camera to get smile
Today I went to Wukesong camera market (what a place!!) and managed to get a 22mm for £50 and an Eos adapter for £60. I went for a walk and dinner with the M and a 22mm and I really can't see any better value for money from other manufacturers. Internet in my hotel is st so can't post any photos but will try to do so later.

It's a great travel addition to your Dslr, a camera you won't be afraid to leave on a tripod in a crowded/windy place or hand over to a stranger to take a photo of you or something to take to dinner and evening stroll leaving the big camera in thw hotel.

Auto focus is not worse than any other compact I've used but touch to focus/shoot works very well.

They should really make the little grip thing on the front much bigger, it's not like anyone will use it without a lens and this way it would be more comfortable to hold and make room for bigger battery. also I find it silly there are no holes for just small one handed wrist strap like on any other compact.
Also there really should be another control wheel somwhere to make it perfect.

BTw if anyone is searching for a low profile case for M with 22mm. I've tried what seemed like hundreds different cases today at the market (and they do have ALL OF THEM! ) and the best fit is Loewpro Dashpoint 20.

How do these compare to a G3? I've been looking at replacing my G3, been all over the place in the decision making progress. I only have the kit list and the 20mm pancake, but the pro of the Canon would be the opening to the DSLR lenses as well.

Panasonic G3?
APS sensor vs M4/3 so in theory Canon wins. Panasonic AF should be better. But in reality I don't see a point in Panasonic G3 since it's almost the size of a small DSLR, just like I don't see the point of using EF lenses on M regularly. For me it's a compact with a big sensor, not a DSLR in small package.

I not planning to use EF lenses on my EOS M very often, but did order the EF adaptor for the odd occasion when I might want to. It arrived this morning, so gave it a quick test with my 85mm f/1.8. It really alters the feel and balance of the camera, but it doesn't feel too strange.

Just took delivery of the cheapy EF-S 50mm lens today. I've only took a couple of shots and so far I am staggered that something so small can produce such good quality images.

I'm so glad I bought this camera.

Just picked up a red EOS-M with the 18-55mm from Argos for my 11yr old daughter for Xmas, unfortunately SWMBO has wrapped it straight up so I won't get a chance to play with it for another month. I'll also be looking for the EOS adapter so that I can use she can use all of my lenses as well, anyone seen any good deals on these?

Just picked one of these up as a Christmas treat to myself. It's such a lot of camera for £200. Far better than my old bridge and good enough to compete with the 400d I had a couple of years ago.
I just wish I had kept my old lenses, especial the 50mm f1.8!

Anyone else getting one for Christmas?
