I just picked up one of these from PC World at £149. Looks like it'll be a nice second camera once I've taken the plunge and bought the DSLR I'm dithering over.
Which store?! I've been trying to track one down today but drawn a blank at 4 different currys/PC world stores ;( - rang head office to track down stock but they were useless.Seight_Returns said:
If anyone's interested - the Lowepro Dashpoint 20 is a perfect fit for the M with the 20mm lens attached.
Yep bought mine with a Dashpoint 20. Just ordered a Hoya UV filter to replace the lens cap to make it easier to take out and use. The Canon wrist strap sticks out between the double zips.Bought the display model from my local Currys yesterday. I got the 18-55 & EX-90 package plus the EF adaptor for £185, as the battery was missing. I have a couple of third party batteries arriving from Amazon this morning. Looking forward to testing it out. I've also got a 22mm coming from Ebay - a few sellers on there selling bulk quantities of brand new unboxed examples for ~£75. The 11-22mm seems to be (comparatively) very expensive still - anyone found a cheap supplier?

... that's uncannily similar to my own experience ... also waiting here for batteries to arrive.I like the idea of being able to use my other lenses & speedlights, and the touch-screen-to-focus-and-shoot feature seems alright - Is this a gimmick or are you all finding it's actually useful?
Job 1 with batteries will be to check the firmware is up to date.

Got one!
Camera, 18-55, 22mm and ef-s adapter.
Loving the touch screen focusing, hope that makes it onto the 5D MK4.
Just done a couple of test shots with my 100mm f2.8L and results look excellent. Superb little camera at this price.
I've heard good things about the 11-22mm so will get a mate to pick one up in Tokyo when he's out there in a couple of weeks.

So after a lot of faffing I got the display model at my local Currys for £149. Unfortunately thee box and the remaining contents (battery/charger/flash/lens overs/manual!) are missing. After a lot of hassle I bought it on the proviso that they'll be ordering all the bits in! I'm not convinced it will be that simple but can always get a refund or more likely I'll buy the stuff on ebay and get them to reimburse their cost!
Looks like a great buy if it comes off!

Some excellent deals mentioned here. For those who are unable to get such deals locally and want the 20mm lens kit it may be worth having a peek at the Wex web site.
Body/20mm/Flash and lens adapter for less than the list price of the last 3 items and they include (or were showing it yesterday) a small/light Manfrotto tripod and a 32Gb decent spec SD card. I think that is a fairly comparable deal all in all though of course the headline price looks higher.

As a newbie to this world, apart from the size, what would the fixed 22mm lens do for me over the kit lens? Is the macro better etc or 'just' better optics etc? Do I 'need' one?!
Another Q, I see the converters to take standard Canon lenses are available as chinese no-names for circa £30. Do these convertes have any glass in them at all or are they essentially just a metal ring? What would i suffer in buying one of these over the Canon part?
