I'm looking to upgrade my camera and would appreciate some advice.

Currently have a 350d (which is giving error messages) and a 300d. Lenses are: Sigma 135-400 APO f4.5, Sigma 18-50 f2.8, Canon 75-300 ultra-sonic and Canon 18-55 "kit" lens.

I'm no expert, but have been using SLRs for long time. I have a safari trip planed in October so will be using it for that.

I want to buy used, and budget is £3-400. I just can't decide on 650d,60d,6d,700d,7d.... I'm not up on spec enough to know what's what, and whether I'd be buying features I just don't need.

Help!

Seems like you've got a bit of overlap on the lenses, I'd raise a few more beans by selling the kit lens and 75-300 and get a Canon 70D.

Yep, Sigma lenses acquired more recently. Not a bad idea though.

No chance of the 70D being an option?

I'd probably take the 60D then. There will not be much difference in image quality either way but the 60D has an extra control wheel on the back, better viewfinder, top-LCD and a few other niceties. Not a lot in it either way though.

I've heard the 7D is a bit past it now - is that fair?

Depends what you are comparing it to. It will be a massive upgrade from 3xxD

6D is FF, needing EF lenses, whilst you've not stated it explicitly, I suspect your lenses are EF-S, as the 300D & 350D are crop sensor cameras.
EF-S Lenses will not (generally) fit on a FF camera.
The 7D is a sports camera, whilst you can get excellent IQ from it, it's forte is its high fps (8fps) and if not exposed perfectly, pictures can be noisy.

The 7D mk2 is rumoured to be out soon, but if it is, it's not going to be the £600 brand new that you can get a classic 7D for.
