Has anyone used the version 2 80-400 Nikon?
My reason for considering the switch is to down size a bit from Canon gear, so I'm considering the D810, 14-24, 24-70, 70-200 and the 80-400 (if it's any good). Although I'd lose a bit of reach compared to my 500, I'd be gaining greater cropping ability which would hopefully make up for the 100mm shortfall (and a stop of light of course).
I'd be going from sort of equivalent Canon lenses for the other lengths, although nothing that rivals the 14-24.
It's hard all this deciding.
