No Canon 7D2 thread?

I'm very tempted to get one to replace my 550D, I know the current price is a bit mad, but I've had my 550D now for what seem alike forever and thing is finally starting to show some wear (rubber bit on the eye piece has fallen off somewhere), so now might be time

Some one tempt me by posting some high noise free high ISO shots please

If you want noise free high-ISO, you'll want the 6D instead.

If you don't want full frame but don't particularly shoot sports (autofocus) or in adverse conditions (weather-sealing) then a 70D will do the job just as well.

The 7D really is a niche camera, but it does excel at what it does.

How much "better" is the 70D at high ISO than the 40D?

I'm pondering an upgrade from the 40D and have, like you did, resisted because it appears the 40D was a real sweet spot as far as sensitivity and performance was concerned. But if the 70D and (potentially) the 7D II if I can afford it are really better at all ISO and 1-2 stops better in low light (I hate using flash except for arty stuff) then maybe it's finally time to upgrade.

Where's the best place to pick one of these up from? the old man fancies one and has been saving up for a while but we're not exactly spoiled with choice in these parts!

Ebay and hongkong. Panamoz do a discount for bacs on their site and I can confirm they are a decent company who won't run off with his cash.

Still too early to get a bargain though. Wait til after xmas as they might drop prices a little then. Unless you want it before then. Personally I'd wait until march unless I needed it asap.
