It was accidentally let out the bag by trials rider Danny Macaskill this morning...

I feel these are turning into iPhones though with a new one seemly being released every six months (probably more like every year)!

This is the first update I've not been that fussed about.

Yeah, ooooh a built in LCD touch screen...

Maybe try having a battery that would be able to record HQ for more than a couple of hours. I'll be hanging on to my 3+

Buggered again, released on sunday going on holiday Monday. I'm not paying £380.

Hopefully get the hero 3+ plus black edition reduced in the next day or 2 online.

Screen on the midrange but not on the top spec. Bit of a disappointment.

I've been holding out for this one for a while (currently have a 2) - whilst full price is quite steep, it's less than I was expecting, although I suppose they're not bundling the remote with it this time.

Does anyone know of anywhere likely to discount them from launch? I will be buying as soon as they are available, as I have a holiday planned next month.

I'm more excited about that to be honest.

For the same price you can buy four of the cheaper ones and still get great footage but three more angles at the same time! Almost disposable too if you're getting paid.

Same here although I'll wait and see if anyone's doing a special price on last years style before deciding what to buy. I know decathlon had some good prices the other week.

The £99 Hero would make an awesome secondary camera. Pointed at the pedals or dash with a proper Gopro recording the car footage scratchchin

The Hero 3+ won't be available for much longer, if at all. The UK distributor isn't replenishing their stock so the 3+ Black has pretty much gone, apart from Grey Imports. The 3+ Silver might still be around for a bit.

Our stock of Hero 4 Black, Silver and the £99.99 Hero arrives next week :-D

The hero3 white for only £149 seems like a great deal for me - it brings the wifi if not the higher resolutions. It may be time for me to finally upgrade from my original hd hero.

Does anyone know what the battery life on the new hero is, though? If might forego wifi if I can stop worrying about power...

That's what I was thinking. The battery in the Hero 3 is not up to the job of recording a full day, and I don't think carrying a spare is a acceptable. The WiFi runs it out so fast, I wonder why they even bothered with it.

Sounds good in theory, but why?! I still shoot in 720 @ 120 most of the time, nothing displays 4k yet and I really don't want to edit files that big hehe

Okay, okay. My Hero 3 was fully charged and ran out of juice after 6-7 hours of DH mountain biking a couple of weeks ago. It was only on whilst filming or taking photos, which was about 2.5 hours of the "full day". It's less than 2 years old and I use it 15-20 days per year.

My 4K telly does, and I feel a Mac Pro coming on for the editing
