Evening all.

I'm wanting to take a trip into London to get some photos of my car in interesting places. One of the places I'd like to go and get some pictures is Battersea Power Station. I've been looking on Google Maps, but can't really find anywhere that I can get a slightly elevated view, and be able to park my car for long enough to be able to do it. Does anyone know of anywhere? Or any other views of London I haven't thought about? I got some of Canary Wharf a few months ago (picture on my profile) and would go there again, but I'm not sure where else I could go!

My camera skills are limited though, so I'm not expecting anything amazing, although I did get some good ones with my phone when I last went.

Many thanks, Tim

Been a few years since I've been up Nine Elms way, but with the redevelopment work going on i'd imagine Cringle St. is awash with builders, maybe try and get a spot on the opposite side of the Thames, Grovenor Rd/Chelsea Embankment or even on the Chelsea Rd bridge? Although not sure whether you'd get away with parking on any of those places!

It does seem to be packed with builders, even on Google StreetView! I did wonder whether I might be able to get some decent ones from Savona Street, but they're from the back and would include all the builders fencing, so might not be great. The bridge seems like a good place to get some, but I don't think I'd get my car in them! Anywhere else I could go for other stuff? The Gherkin or Buckingham Palace?

On a Sunday the City of London is a ghost town. I'm sure you could get some decent shots there. Lloyds, Leadenhall market, St Mary Axe, etc.

I guess if you go at a quiet time anywhere along the embankment, you've got London Eye, OXO Tower even MI6 building (wouldn't fancy trying that one though!)

Or you could go out of London and up to Epsom Downs, where you'll get a panorama of London that ranges from Wembley stadium right over to Canary Wharf, although you might need to stitch a few photos together to get a decent resolution,

This was a quick snap with my iPhone Epsom Downs

Up the hill by Alexandra Palace is a good view, daytime or nighttime.

MI6 Building... I've found a place I might be able to get a good picture! Epsom is a good shout as well for everything, thanks very much for the idea! I'll try and get some pictures up if anyone is interested in seeing them. I know my car isn't all that, but it does scrub up well!

Haven't shot in London for the best part of a year, but there's this view of Canary Wharf:

Location (Helsinki Square):
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Canary+Wharf,+...

Further round, you've also got this place (Rotherhithe Street):
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Canary+Wharf,+...

Where you can get these two, depending on which way you're facing:

The reason we chose them was because we got lumbered with a mid-day/mid-week London shoot, so these are quiet areas during peak hours. Would assume they're also quiet off-peak. Helsinki Square has the potential to be a great spot for a night-shoot.

Thanks very much Rogue86, I will check it out! Night shoots are probably going to be the order of the day (or errr night...) as that's the only time I can go!

I;ve shot at Helsinki sq at night, its a good spot many have shot there. Slight issue though your car might not be able to mount the curbs and onto the path as Graham has done with the Range Rover Sport.

Yeah that's a very good point, even in the Range Rover I wouldn't have fancied tackling that kerb if I was unable to lift the suspension, it's a bit of a monster!
