I'll be getting some calendars made again this year, I've previously used photobox but I've found that the pages curl quite badly after a couple of months on the A3 ones.

Any recommended places that will do A3 sized pages?

I still use photobox for our (and family) A3 calendars and haven't had any issues with the pages curling (your comment made me go check the calendar hanging in our hallway before replying).

I'm sure there are a lot of good companies but I've only tried one:

Photobox.

Have used them 3 years in a row. No problems.

So no one else is having problems? It's happened to all of the calendars I got from photobox.

I thought it may be humidity (I live near Aberdeen!) but I have one offshore, the humidity on the rig was measured as being too low for guidelines and we keep getting static shocks form everything.

I use Photobox for more general items and their service has been good.

However, I produce a few A3 calendars each year. But what I require is the calendar to be in landscape with the image as big as possible on the page with just the dates along the bottom. This doesn't appear in Photobox's list of options.

After a bit of internet searching, and I have used them for the last three years - is www.pixum.co.uk. Quality and delivery is very good, mind you they are not at photo box prices.

Used Yophoto last year - interface took a little getting used to, and the range of adjustment is different to Photobox (better in some ways), but...
- The quality of the finished article was much better
- They'd got some nice options, in particular border effects

Oh, and customer service was pretty good - interface only lets you do 1 at a time, and thus charges you multiple postage. E-mailed them about this, they said just send them the order references and they'll manually match and refund...they were as good as their word.

Tempted to use them again this year.

I've been using a printer (the ones who print leaflets, booklets, etc etc, as opposed to photo labs) for my calendars, and the quality is excellent. I'm not saying Photobox ones are bad but these are proper retail quality print at much less cost (although you obviously need to order more than a few!). I guess the minimum that you need to order depends on the printer but it would probably cost you less than photo labs.

Is there anywhere decent that does A3 landscape (rotation, i.e. not portrait) poster-calendars? The ones on photobox only appear to be portrait, or effectively A4 landscape with the calendar on the opposite page. Not after a huge amount printing.
