Nikon D3 noise banding

Afternoon chaps,

Having an issue with noise banding in dark areas of my photos, took a photo with my cap on and was presented with this, safe to say its knackered?

I have seen that if you go mental in post you can get these lines on a few Nikon models, but im seeing these appear when using ISO's as low as 500 and not touching the exposure in post (i'll post a sample when im at home later)

How long an exposure? At ISO 500 and anything around 1 min or less I think FUBAR'd. I've done tons of 30 seconds + exposures on my D3 and have never had anything like that.

This is regular shooting, nothing longer than 120

Will try the same on mine tonight and see what it looks like. What iso, aperture and shutter speed did you use on your test shot? I'll use the same. Assume that was shot in raw?

Thanks for your help all, dealers agreed to refund me just seeing that one image, so somethings up with it

That's a nice result. Good dealer attitude
