What ISO, White balance etc. should work best? I think I have a spare welding filter around.
I'm going to use a shade 13 welding screen. Unfortunately I've only got a 55mm lens. I'm going to use a normal WB and ISO800 with a fairly long exposure. Got a few minutes so will be experimenting

It let me fix it on the main site, but not the mobile one.

Seems to be better now.

Wasn't sure if it counts as sunny or overcast. wink

I have a number 10 filter and it just covers the 77mm lens.

Ah well, weather reports suggest pretty much the whole of the UK will have cloud cover tomorrow morning. South Wales and Nottingham area the only places likely to see sun around 9am at the moment.

So much for photographing the eclipse, let alone seeing it.

To add to cloudy misery, the French have kindly sent over a huge patch of Parisian smog to cover the South of England and Wales. frown

I thought it was Ze Chermans. But very EU and sharing of them - where's that nice Mister Farage (rhymes with garage) when you want him to send something back?

It's not all gloom though...

Too much cloud teamed with not enough zoom on my bloody kit lens and I got this, pick of a bad bunch, not edited, straight off the camera

As I had no eclipse glasses, welding glass, special filters etc.
I was grateful for the cloud cover that gave the occasional glimpse.

The cloud definitely helped, and they were surprisingly colourful too!

I wasn't going to bother - but decided to give it a go. I quite liked this one I took despite the lens flare.

No, just too much filter glass. :-)

I didn't plan ahead so quickly grabbed a 1000mm lens, polariser and an ND to cut down the light. I forgot I also had a UV filter on the front on the lens.

Still I like the effect.
