First edit attempt

Borrowed mothers camera fir a bit and took it with us on a dog walk this morning to have a go with.

Got a couple of ok shots and some that I liked.

I know everyone has advised me away from gimp but its all I have downloaded at the moment so I thought I would give it a go.

Anyway here is one of the outcomes from my first try.

What does the original look like?

I'm not a fan - it looks a bit like something from an 80s kids TV show to me, but if you like it then that's what counts really.

Goes well with the purple sea. It's called setting the 'mauve balance'. Mauve is the new white

To be honest I was just editing for editings sake there. Just a play and I liked the lilac sky that's why , not to the taste of all I will admit I will admit.

Here is another one with the original, just sharpened up a bit. Looks a bit crisper I think.

I like the richer colours, but may have left the eye a bit brighter. Not that I know anything about editing! Just to my taste really.

Thanks for the positive input. Now worked out that too much editing looks a bit OTT. The eye picture I do prefer, little tweeks here and there on that one.
