March 2015 Photo Competition - Solitude

I'm not very artistic or particularly good at photographing anything other that tractors, but I quite like this one

I was hoping to post a photo that I took this month - I know it isnt the rule but I was trying to do it anyway - this one is only from last month so I dont feel too bad!

Some awesome entries as always, well done one and all.

As with any photographic competition there will be a degree of subjectivity involved, so you may or may not agree with my choices, variety being the spice of life and all that.

Anyway, my view:

Really like the simplicity of this, you get a feeling how hard the little ant is working. The shallow depth of field focuses the eye on the subject and isolates it perfectly.

Sums up the theme of the competition nicely, very contemplative and leaves the viewer wondering what the monk is considering. Nicely composed.

Really enigmatic, fits the theme perfectly, the black and white removes the distraction of colour which I think would have weakened the shot. Really like this. Well done, over to you.
