After looking at the Fuji X100T and a X-Pro1 I decided the get the real thing and bought a 1970 Leica M4 with a 50mm Summilux f1.4. I've never owned a Leica and thought it was about time I did. The camera is in nice condition but the one second and half second shutter speeds are slow and sometimes stick. All other speeds work fine but I don't know how accurate they are.

I'm unlikely to shoot at slower shutter speeds and could just use it as it is but have decided that it could probably do with a good service. Can anyone recommend someone reputable I can entrust my camera to?

Many thanks.

Mr Will

I've used Aperture Photographic the past for rangefinder lens repairs and been very happy with them. All the work is done in-house and the quality is top notch: http://www.apertureuk.com/leica.html

Thanks very much Mr Will.

I have given Aperture a call and will drop off the camera next time I'm in London.

Just got back from a weekend in London to drop off my camera to Aperture. They did a great job in record time. The viewfinder and rangefinder are now really bright in comparison to before and the slow and sticking shutter speeds have been fixed. Couldn't be happier with the cheerful and very helpful service I received. I will definitely use Aperture again.

Many thanks to Mr. Will for recommending them.
