any users ? 100-400 L Canon IS II lens

thinking of getting one soon;
any first hand experience ?
going to be using it on a 5Dmk3

last large (ish) zoom was 70-200 2.8 IS plus 2x convertor - didn't like the convertor - IQ was just as good if you used just the lens and cropped in lightroom !
Sold both quite a while ago to fund other stuff; - it was used on a crop body
Now on the lookout for a decent IQ lens for use on the FF body

I have the mkI version of this lens for use with my 5D mk2 and it's great.

No experience of the Mk2 - but from what I have read it's sharper than the mk1 and works in a similar manner to the 70-200 lenses (i.e. twist to zoom). It also has a new IS option which sounds interesting.

Used the mk1 a bit, actually a very decent lens. Hated the IS system though, the bokeh and corners were ropey.

mk2 really kills it. great IQ, IS that works at 4 stops.

Cant really go wrong with it.

The new 70-200/2.8IS mk2 and 2.0tc mk3 were equal IQ to the old 100-400.
