I'm a big fan of Adobe's new SAAS model, as it allows for rapid feature updates and bug fixes, plus it's cheap as chips given the functionality.
However, have you looked at Polarr as an alternative? Very slick - https://editor.polarr.co/

Anybody know what the minium spec laptop you can use for the latest lightroom? Do you have to have an idependent graphics card?
I have a windows 7 laptop but its only an I3 with 4GB ram so i suspect not really man enough for the job.
I'm sure it will work even if a bit slower. I have no problems with using LR on my Macbook Air, even when editing hundreds of 25MB files. I have a windows 7 laptop but its only an I3 with 4GB ram so i suspect not really man enough for the job.
One thing though - I uninstalled CC and went back to 5.7. It was much much slower so you might want to look into that.

Along with my camera came a copy of Lightroom 6 (standalone). Is it possible to add dehaze as I think this would be an excellent feature for me.
Try here:http://prolost.com/blog/dehaze
Free dehaze presets for LR6.1
I have not tried them as I only have LR5 at the moment so can't vouch but worth a look.
