A few signs and a couple of people warning passers-by seems to suffice.

Isn't it the case that as long as there is no commercial gain, then someone can do this for the OP.

Whether any of the location restrictions apply depends on the location itself and whether there are any other structures or people in the vicinity.

Presumeably, the building itself would be under control of the person flying the "drone" as the OP would have granted the flyer that control.
The problem lies with the fact the vast majority of houses are next to a public road. You can get round the issue of people and structures under your control by informing and getting permission from your neighbours.

You then have the issues of recording images and privacy.

I'm not saying don't do it and people shouldn't not offer their services. But currently it's quite a grey area and it's quite easy to fall on the wrong side of CAA rules. I believe a few estate agents have had a ticking off for using drones to record properties in an incorrect manner.

I'd hate to think what damage a drone could do if it crashed. Certainly at Bournemouth airshow last year in a crowd of thousands whilst aircraft were flying display routines some fool was flying a drone over the crowds. I'd hate to think if it had crashed and hit someone or if an aircraft did a crowd rear entry like the Reds or BBMF as the drone was up and they hit it.
