Actually I believe the Nikon SB-800 would work on a Canon Body so not so daft smile
I can't think it would support Nikon CLS/TTL etc but heck, I'll wrap it up for you right now hehe

For used / 2nd hand kit do people just head to ebay?

Or is there a particular forum with a decent for sale section?

Hi Dan smile

I use eBay, Gumtree and Talk Photography (for TP you need to satisfy various requirements - eg having been a member for a certain time with a certain number of (genuine) posts etc). What are you after ?

New? - the used ones on eBay are not massively cheaper so worth considering...

5Ds no? I remember seeing a pic of it on your Instagram feed. Looks like a sweet bit of kit anyway.

Ah, fair. How big is a RAW file on one of those? It must be massive!

Probably! Not had time to check yet... spent all weekend hard at work in the garden rather than out shooting :/

Got my new body yesterday.... 760D biggrin (Liked the 100D so much I had to sell it.)

Just ordered a 15-85 to go with it - Uncle Ken said 'If you can't shoot it with this lens, it can't be shot.' so how could I not!? hehe

Also Have a Toki 11-16 for wide angle (possible upgrade to Toki 11-20 but 82mm filters is off-putting)

Have a Siggy 17-50 which is great but 50 is just not enough reach and I very rarely shoot wide open so it is for the chop I think.

Still got my 100mm for macro

Still got my 400mm for wildlife

All good fun smile

Hmm well actually the 760 seems massive after the 100 so I definitely don't want anything bigger! If anything I could see myself going mirrorless or maybe to the 150D if/when it comes out but I think I might just try taking some photos for a change and leave the gear alone.

Also had to upgrade my version of Elements as the one I had wouldn't open the RAW files (and going via PNG seems like a faff) grumpy

The 5Dsr spits out RAW's around the 50Mb mark, here's a screenshot of files from a recent shoot:-

I'm interested to see how you get on with the 760. One of the reasons I love the EOS M is the colours it renders (same sensor as the 100D) and the recently released M3 which I had my eye on (same sensor as the 760D) has definitely received a lukewarm reception on some of the forums I go on due to it's muted colours and iffy WB.

Why the upgrade then? Better AF? Newer sensor?

Better sensor, articulated screen and electronic spirit level. The sensor is a good step up according to what I have read smile

Fair enough. It was the articulated screen on the M3 that was the biggest draw for me. Look forward to seeing some pics.

Not much to show yet due to a lot of fannying around with Photoshop + plugins but I seem to have got it all working now smile

Treated myself to this ahead of my 30th birthday. Been wanting one for years – it should be a bit of an upgrade from a 50mm 1.8 and 40mm 1.8 STM. It'll be bringing my 5D bang-up-to-date (until it gets remotely dark…). Great service (and price) from Digital Rev too – ordered Thursday afternoon and arrived Monday, from Hong Kong.
