Where do people tend to buy memory cards from - ebay seems hit & miss with the genuine / fake mix.
Not after anything special just quick SD stuff.
I get mine from 7dayshop, they seem pretty alright. I've never had any problems, it's pretty cheap and I'm pretty sure the stuff is genuine. Not after anything special just quick SD stuff.

I have also used MyMemory.
Bear in mind 7DS ship from outside the EU. I had one odd thing a few months ago where I order 2 cards at the same time. They were shipped separately. One arrived as expected. The other seemed to go AWOL so I checked with the support people at 7DS who were very helpful but could do nothing much to help as the card had temporarily gone out of stock.
In the end the original arrived. I have no idea where it had been that its mate avoided. Generally 7DS have been very good over the years and prices are certainly keen.
Good Press Release from Canon today, just in time for the Olympics...

Looks interesting from a technical advances perspective.http://www.canonrumors.com/announcing-the-canon-eo...

Obviously I am not in the market for one ... however I did not spot a suggested availability date.
Presumably it will be allocated to the Olympics related agencies first and filter down to mortals later?
So cheaper 1Dx Mk1s may be a while away. Along with accessibly priced 1D4s which still seem to be hovering around the £1k mark.
Its not official yet is it?
Anyhow outside from the high ISO ability I have no interest in this at all. big bulky and not for me. If I had that cash I would be in for a 645z (or its replacement)
170 frame raw buffer for when you absolutely have no idea on the decisive moment.
Lots of f8 focus points though.

Seems like a dealer somewhere (US?) jumped the gun yesterday but it is up on the Canon UK web site today.Available in May in the UK apparently. Mid-April in the US. So a while to wait before production examples are available for the guys who like to test things.
The new CFast cards are quite expensive. A handful of those for the video shooters will make the camera price look quite reasonable!
It's a Mk2 - picked it up on TP for £200, seems like a bargain
Will wait and see if I gel with it - not sure if I'll take to the Sony interface (tried an A6000 and hated it!) but it's really just going to be on point and shoot duties so expectations are quite low.
I'll still be using the XT1 for landscapes and the 760D for macro - longer term I may pick up the Fuji 120mm macro when it comes out (if I can sort out the flash) and dispose of the Canon gear completely...

I'm currently waiting on a RX100 Mk4 thats coming today hopefully. I have literally condensed all my kit down to this one camera. Will wait and see if I gel with it - not sure if I'll take to the Sony interface (tried an A6000 and hated it!) but it's really just going to be on point and shoot duties so expectations are quite low.

I used to have a 7D and lenses, multiple flashes etc but just ended up never having the time to do something serious with it all and lamented having to lug around so much kit. Stepped sideways to mirrorless in an effort to shrink the kit but that didn't really work. Although I enjoyed using the camera (NEX-6), I found to get any flexibility on lenses you either had to carry lots of primes or be stuck with something with a naff aperture. The kit just ended up ballooning again and again, time to actually use it and use it properly.
So for my next experiment I have sold the lot and bought an RX100 MK4. Reviews are good and extensive browsing of flickr groups shows its going to be capable enough for my limited skills so I will see how I get on with it. Hopefully by being actually pocketable I can just have it with me all the time.
Who knows, after this I'll either go back up to more serious stuff or might just find there is no longer space for a photography hobby in my life anymore. But I have some cool trips this year (Poland, Japan) and packing so light in the camera dept should be a boon.

I have definitely cooled a bit on 'proper' photography but I don't think I could cope with selling up just yet!
I just took with me to Iceland. Great for uneven surfaces, theres also different sizes. I had a A6000 on it and it could easily hold a bigger camera.
