Had my first flight in the big outdoors yesterday evening. Inspire 1 with the Zuiko 12mm. Very pleased with the drone, it flies superbly well. Didn't quite have the lens calibrated in the app. Did all this succesfully today.
A few images from Derbyshire.

Very nice. Let us know how you get on with the image quality and the calibration. Pics are looking promising so far.

It actually stopped raining yesterday for about 2 hours but was fairly windy, but I got the trusty Phantom 2 up with the GoPro at our new house/renovation project.

Not only do we now have a few acres, we found out we actually now own part of the lake and the house comes with it's own ATC control tower as you can see biggrin

Hopefully now get to do some more flying but I was really nervous over the water.

Congratulations - that's a lovely house in a beautiful spot.

It's not really going to be any worse than coming down on hard ground from 400ft anyway!

I was bringing the Phantom back in @30% battery and then hovered to see if the RTH kicked in @20% as set.

It did kick in and started to rise but then power dropped instantly to 7% and the drone slowly dropped and landed. Just as well I brought it in when I did.

Looks like the battery needs a charge cycle according to what I have been reading.

Wife has barred me from buying any more drone stuff until the house is sorted frown.

Thanks. Still can't believe it's ours. Don't have a massive budget to fix it up but I'll get a build thread up once we get going at it.

ATC tower needs bigger windows for a start smile.

Very nice, is that an isthmus or an island?

Had a flight out on Monday weather was iffy to say the least, the dark cloud was a massive thunderstorm over Manchester. Really enjoy flying the Inspire, continual worry over the qr props. I've just gone and bought the Lynh Phan Carbon props with screw on adaptors, very well finished but a little pricey.

Spent several hours on the ground learning the ins and outs of the go app. Interesting having spot metering function, though the lack of a decent manual for the app is a let down.

It's a peninsula. More pics when the weather improves.

The GoPro is performing not too bad, however I would really like some more dynamic range and the ability to click the camera in fight rather than just collecting snaps every 5 seconds.

The little Island in the foreground is a Viking Crannog and apparently if the Lake water drops far enough a causeway appears allowing us to walk over to it.

Roll on summer and better weather.

How do you intend to do this? I've read several ways, but don't know the best. Ta.

My Phantom 2 battery is different to the Phantom 3, however I believe the issue is to do with the cells needing calibrated after 20 cycles so the "smart" tech has a base line to monitor from properly.

So I intend to fly to around 20%, land and leave the drone on (with motors off, props removed) and run the battery slowly down to 8%. After a while I'll charge it fully.

I plan to do this on Sunday so I'll post my findings.
