A nice bit of flying, and a good location to boot!

Bet that was a nervous flight.... Pics are great though cool

I've never been that far out. The Phantom looks like a postage stamp @300m

Perhaps these things aren't as a daft an idea as we first thought.... Zoomies hehe

I'm just getting used to the idea that it might not make it back one day. The Inspire is so small at 500m I wouldn't want to take it farther out. thumbup

Did a whole week in wales and it was virtually gale force winds all week and took it out today up on the moors and... you get the idea.

Anyone wanna buy a drone?

I know what you mean, just about every flight I did in Scotland felt like it may be last for that particular drone. It performed flawlessly and boosted my confidence no end. thumbup

Out of interest, what is everyone flying? For comparison, I took this today

Hubsan H107C - 2Mp camera!

It's not bad to fly, but the wind and it's own mood can take it in any direction, all movement translates back to the camera and the exposure is all over the place.

On the plus side, it cost £40, though the spare motors and blades have probably doubled that biggrin

If you're nervous flying over water watch this:

If your Phantom is going to fall out of the sky it's going to either get lost (sea) or get broken (land).
If it loses signal it will fly back, and flying over the sea there's less likely to be interference or obstacles to it's safe return.

I have an Inspire, it really is very good in wind and the gimbal works well. All I have to do now is learn how to film in a professional way biggrin

I can't quite put my finger on it, but there seems to be a slight difference between your picture of a river and my picture of a river....

I'm beginning to think I need to MTFU and just fly the damn thing instead of having an expensive paperweight gathering dust and just take the risk. I'm in a no fly zone so don't have the luxury of taking off from my back garden but do have Dartmoor to play with only 30mins away but the weather is so hit n miss.

Mines a Phantom 3 Pro - Such an awesome bit of kit when I do get the chance.

If you haven't flown it for a while, there is new firmware upgrade needed for the p3p. You can bet they won't repair any faults if it hasn't got the latest software. Updating my controller was a real faff - couldn't use the card/bin file, had to do it via wifi.
