Looks like the battery needs a charge cycle according to what I have been reading.

How do you intend to do this? I've read several ways, but don't know the best. Ta.
My Phantom 2 battery is different to the Phantom 3, however I believe the issue is to do with the cells needing calibrated after 20 cycles so the "smart" tech has a base line to monitor from properly.

So I intend to fly to around 20%, land and leave the drone on (with motors off, props removed) and run the battery slowly down to 8%. After a while I'll charge it fully.

I plan to do this on Sunday so I'll post my findings.
The Inspire tells me to take the batteries down to 5% to deep cycle them. I just fly as normal and hover for the last 10% until it lands.

I have a pass to leave the Shire and head north for a week so this is last photo from my practise field for now. I shall be demonstrating how to loose a drone in wilds of Scotland biggrin

Bet that was a nervous flight.... Pics are great though cool

I've never been that far out. The Phantom looks like a postage stamp @300m

Perhaps these things aren't as a daft an idea as we first thought.... Zoomies hehe

I'm just getting used to the idea that it might not make it back one day. The Inspire is so small at 500m I wouldn't want to take it farther out. thumbup

Did a whole week in wales and it was virtually gale force winds all week and took it out today up on the moors and... you get the idea.

Anyone wanna buy a drone?
I know what you mean, just about every flight I did in Scotland felt like it may be last for that particular drone. It performed flawlessly and boosted my confidence no end. thumbup

Out of interest, what is everyone flying? For comparison, I took this today

Hubsan H107C - 2Mp camera!

It's not bad to fly, but the wind and it's own mood can take it in any direction, all movement translates back to the camera and the exposure is all over the place.

On the plus side, it cost £40, though the spare motors and blades have probably doubled that biggrin
I have an Inspire, it really is very good in wind and the gimbal works well. All I have to do now is learn how to film in a professional way biggrin

ATTI mode would work and as long as you place the Phantom in the right place for breeze to take it, you should be able to concentrate on getting the shot.

Well done bow

Really pleased you got this. Well deserved.

Just have to sort myself out someday.
If I can do it, as the saying goes biggrin It's a wonderful feeling having another option to earn a living and make some changes. After nearly 20 years of working nights, it's time to see what daylight really looks like on a regular basis. thumbup
