I want to get into a bit of drone photography myself and I've been looking at the Phantom 3 Standard. Great price on it at eglobalcentral.co.uk but I've not heard of the site so wondered if anyone else had? £379.99 vs £449.99 on Amazon.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic

Well it has a D/a authority of 33, which to me means the website has been around for a while and has a lot of other sites linking to it. They also have a decent FB following and accept Paypal so if it doesn't turn up you can lodge a dispute and get your money back.

I'd buy from there.

Just a slight bit of advice. I also did the same (although I bought from Jessops). I went for the Standard, but really wish I'd spent the extra and went for the Pro/Advance for the light bridge connection. I've had mine a while now and find the Standard's range slightly limiting.

I'm very tempted just to pre-order a P4P/Mavic (or dream - Inspire 2!)

Try Heliguy, friendly people who're just as happy to give advice as to sell stuff. The sevice is second to none and they're as quick as Amazon when it comes to dispatching items. They're the company I deal with now.

Thanks the advice chaps. The Standard is all funds will permit as it's a Chrimbo gift from the OH and I'm already contributing. At least they hold a bit of value so may be able to trade up in future. Look out for an inexpert photo from me on this thread in January smile

Apologies I didn't mean for my post to come across overly negative. I still think the P3S is a great bit of kit for the price! It's a great way to get into the drone world without a huge outlay.

If you can - do save up a bit more and buy Advanced. Range on the Standard and 4k is really very limiting. I bought the 4k as my first drone and really felt often frustrated that I couldn't go further.

In truth the funds are there, but they're earmarked for house purchase next year. First time buyer at 39 so I've gotta be strict having left it a bit late - you wouldn't believe the bargaining this has taken with OH as it is hehe

Assuming that my day tomorrow goes to plan, I'm about to sell my P3Pro.... Might be worth a chat...

Although I'd agree the Advanced is well worth the extra money, you can always buy a long range antenna for the Standard at a later date if you do struggle with the range. Although obviously any range in excess of 500m is strictly speaking unnecessary! wink
