Well without wishing to watch the whole shiny promo, what's the shutter lag like, can I fit a telephoto or macro lens, what sort of flash options are there, what's the noise in low light like and will it control my studio lights? Or is it just a trendy toy for the smartphone generation?

I think the point is, each one of those 16 cameras has a specific function - various zoom levels, low light, macro, etc., and 10 of them fire at once and then the computational image part is the clever thing that stitches it all together in knew frame, which you can manipulate afterwards.Ah, thanks. This is better: http://bokeh.digitalrev.com/article/meet-the-light...
I can see it working as a replacement for a compact - but not at that price. It may be jolly clever but I think it's solving a problem that people don't have (or don't care about).

Clever - but sort of solves a problem that doesn't exist.
A bit like rotary engines. Very clever, but the regular 4 stroke engines have had so many more years of development, that rotary didn't really bring much to the party.
While this is clever, theres just so much more that a smartphone camera and compact can do.
The size of that thing also - Looks like a VHS cassette!
