I want to download the Nikon wi-fi app to my Nokia Lumia 1020 windows phone and can't. I get a red exclamation mark symbol and the words 'you don't have any devices' displayed. I am doing something wrong, haven't set up google account correctly etc or is that the app doesn't work with a Windows phone like the Lumia 1020?

You would need a Windows Mobile version of the App and I don't see one.

This is not unusual. There are any number of fairly specific programs of relatively narrow interests that people have not ported to Windows mobile. Even things like BT SmartTalk which, one might imagine could have at least some sort of universal popularity that would justify the effort.

On the other hand if Win 10 goes where MS seem to want it to go presumably anything that works on Windows would also work on the mobile version (perhaps, maybe ....)

That said it is entirely possible that Microsoft will not be too concerned, by the time everything is properly ready to roll out on mobile, if they are not in a position to support the "legacy" "Nokia" 1020.

What would the Nikon App do for you? There may be an alternative of some sort for some activities.

Thanks for your reply. I suppose my options are to buy something other than a windows phone when I replace the 1020 or buy a Nikon D7100 rather than the D7200 on the basis that what the D7200 does that the D7100 doesn't won't work for me anyway. Or buy the D7200 and hope that eventually a suitable windows app is released by someone - I'm open to offers as to who to lobby..

If you want to control the camera using the Phone then I think you need to lobby Nikon for a Windows version of the app.

If you want to transfer files via Wi-Fi there may be other options.
