Christmas pressie for camera mad niece?
Discussion
15 yr old niece, very into photography. Looking to get her something camera related for Christmas.
Previous presents have included a cheap filter set, a low cost tripod, a remote shutter, a couple of camera books.
Ideally something she can experiment with (like the filter lens set or the tripod were).
Any thoughts?

Trip to the Cotswolds/Lake District?

If she doesn't have one already, how about a Gorillapod?

We're all so grown up and PC these days on PH, aren't we. I remember the days when the stock response was either "...seems like a fair swap..." or "...this thread is useless without...."Simpo Two said:
I'd ask her.
That's no fun! .....But the best answer Not that I can remember being that age, but rather than more "gadgets" how about good books which would be inspiring and maybe a bit educational? There must be some really good books about photography greats - I would have treasured a book of Ansel Adams shots, technique and life story..... Would the Niece have some favourite, or a "genre" or style that is or could be inspiring?

There's a selection of AF-D 50mm 1.8 at LCE. Starting from £80. Could be a joint present? 50mm is a good one, but too dear I'm afraid.

Looks the same as a toy light sabre "available from all good toy stores", avoid the wait for it to ship from USA. Also, take it out of the packet and pretend you are Luke Skywalker until you knock your lamp over, realise you are nearly 40, hang your head and put it back in the box.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
