A weekend in Torridon
Discussion
So after years of subtle hints, not so subtle hints, discussions, etc etc my wife has treated my to a weekend (2 or 3 nights) up in Torridon.
I know we have our resident Torridon expert! But i also know that a number of you have been up to this part of the world too. I am looking for any tips about places to go / visit from a photography point of view. I am very keen to do some wildlife photography whilst i'm there, is there any places close by where i have a good chance of eagles / martins / other wildlife we don't see down here! It's an 11 hour drive up, so i will not be looking to travel too far away from Torridon whilst we are there, but could definitely stop somewhere on the way up / back.
Any hints on some good roads would be great as well although i get the impression they are all pretty impressive in that neck of the woods!

Yes the Applecross looks incredible! I will have to ensure that i take that in, either as a specific trip or as part of the journey there or back!
Final dates not fixed yet, but it will be sometime in April. I know wildlife sightings, particularly with eagles etc, are never guaranteed, but it would be good to know any areas that i should... focus... on.
We are staying at the Torridon too, i am looking forward to sampling their whiskey bar!

I presume you are resident in that area? I too have been planning a trip to that part of the country so I'll give you a shout if I can make it up there (maybe March). I'd also like some guidance to where is best to visit - including unmissable bits! - if that's OK. It'll be for scenery, good driving roads and wildlife; a bit of everything! If I get a single shot anything remotely close to any of yours, I'll be chuffed to bits.

Yep.... and no problem.Thread resurrection!! I will be going here next week (hope the weather will be okay!) as part of a week break exploring the area including a trip over to Skye and also Glencoe/Ben Nevis. Will look at the route DD suggested, but are there any other must see areas or any particularly good spots for photographing the landscape or local wildlife hotspots!?
Any advice is appreciated.
Cheers
