Gopro - Night Vision
Discussion
What is it you want to film...just low light or in darkness?
The new ones can handle low light alright, plenty videos on youtube showing it.
You can do night lapse videos with them which are pretty good

You can also convert a gopro to infrared...

If you are asking about filming, you can get decent lowlight film but the GoPro is not ideal for this.
On the other hand, the GoPro shoots remarkable Night Lapses. You can get time lapses of driving through the night, a dark theatre filling up, or a time lapse of the stars for an entire night. You have to work with the night mode settings and adjust them depending on the type of shot, but with a little practice you can get clear night lapses. For example, I use an auto shutter speed when filming a night time drive and this results in around a picture every second which is ideal for shorter time lapses. When filming the stars I use a 30 second shutter speed which pics up a lot more light, and takes a picture every 30 seconds(filming the whole night = around 8 seconds of video).
I hope this helps give a better idea of what the GoPro is capable of, but note there are a few more settings that are very important and factors that will make or break a night lapse.
