Doing some youtube videos for a friend and have the opportunity of a 2nd hand camcorder (Low budget). The main reason I am interested in this camcorder is it has MIC in and headphone out.

However the only potential fly in the ointment is it does not do 1080p. It does 1080i and 720p.

Is this a deal breaker?

Check the resolution of YouTube (= not much). If it's lower than your camera I can't see a problem.

Well youtube can support up to 4k video these days (and maybe larger, i'm not sure) but where as most videos on there these days are 1080p, there's still millions of videos on there that aren't. Plus you have to take into account that most people will watch you tube on a phone or tablet. Most phones and tablets don't stream over 720p anyway. Some even default to lower.

It will be more than adequate for youtube, as long as that's all you'll ever want to us the footage for.
