My camera has bit the dust and am thinking about replacing it with a used 5D MKII body
What is a reasonable price to pay assuming it is reasonably clean? I have seen a few available in france for 900 Euro level
Also any opinions on how many pictures taken starts to get too many?

MPB Photographic have a couple of used 5D2 bodies from £549: https://www.mpb.com/en-uk/used-equipment/used-phot...

The London Camera Exchange have several used 5D2 bodies in stock from £660: https://www.lcegroup.co.uk/Secondhand-Search/?Orde...

As always I guess that condition and shutter count will dictate the values, you will probably be able to buy cheaper via Ebay instead of one of the dealers, though buyer beware when buying second-hand. I have no idea about shutter life for this particular camera.

Thanks for the links, looks like UK is 100Euros cheaper than France.
Anyone goy an opinion about how many captures before it starts to be well used?

The 5D2 has been very popular as a video camera.

How you would factor that into an assessment versus shutter click count I am not sure.

Unless you are planning to take huge numbers of images I'm not sure it really matters.

I sold mine with around 110k shutter actuations and it was still going strong. It's marketed as a semi pro body but they're tougher than you think and are used by many pros. The mk3 moves things on a bit and is the one to go for if funds allow as it has much better focusing capabilities - similar to the 1Dx. The focusing alone is worth the price difference.

Unfortunately I need to raise cash, I have decided to sell my canon 5d mkii along with 3 L lenses and 2 or three other lenses. I really don't fancy ebay. Are there any other avenues?
Bingo. That'll be 10% please biggrin

If you study the timing of posts on both threads you will see that your Agency Fee claim is a little late
