What is a good set of night vision binoculars to buy? For spotting wildlife at 50-300 feet.

They all seem very expensive, around 5x the price of equivalent normal binoculars.

It's the tech that makes them so expensive. I was looking at this last year, but it's a bit of a minefield as results are not that good unless you spend SERIOUS money.

ETA - avoid gen 1 and get gen2+ to get decent results.

(lowers binoculars hastily) 'Ah there you are dear!

'Perving again Basil?

'What? No, look, there's an ocelot in that tree over there. (Points). Look, there is, honest.

'Just next to the window with the young lady getting undressed you mean? Honestly Basil, it's pathetic'
