So tomorrow we find out what Canon have in store.

Rumours say $3500 buys you 30 Mp, 7fps, and some new fancy feature allowing you to change focal point in post editing! very flash!

Sure many will prefer other cameras, Sony etc.. but i am hoping it will be a great upgrade from myself from my 7D.

5D3 is plenty for me. I'd rather put the money towards some new glass or more likely, another holiday to take some photos. smile

I'm very pleased with all my Canon stuff so far, and have been wanting a second camera body for a while now, so it's likely I will be at the front of the queue.

Same here, I had my Mk3 stolen a year ago and didn't see the point buying another one waiting for the Mk4 since I use 1Dx most of the time. But for traveling I need something smaller so I'm very excited to see what Canon has on offer.

I agree, many don't get that 5D3 is still a fantastic piece of kit, and well its probably not worth the upgrade. in 4 years time when the next 5d comes out then it will be worth it.

But from my trusty 7d brought in 2011, its well worth the upgrade.

And good glass is always worth the money, i try and buy one new lens a year.

Should be a solid upgrade I think.

Canons have a habit of being better as a whole than the specs

The release of the mk IV may well have a bearing on the prices of second hand mk IIIs and remaining new stock too.

I've thought about upgrading my original 5d when the Mk2 and then Mk3 came out. Maybe this is the time to jump? 4K video would make me consider it (I have 4K monitors and TV, and a Mac Pro with Final Cut that should be able to handle the editing)

3.5K! I'd have been interested if it was a thousand less. Time will reduce the price I suppose, but the mk4 will have to be a huge improvement on the mk3 for me to be able to justify it.

That was my thought. It is clearly a better Camera but it's a lot more than the mk3 was at launch.

Yeah price seems a lot, i believe in USD its the same as launch price for the Mk3? So i am guessing it might come down a little once some deals appear, particularly when you convert USD to GDP it comes out roughly £3k, so some £500 cheaper?

I've pre-ordered; I'm upgrading from a mk2. Hoping to get my hands on it before a trip to Iceland in six weeks...

I'm a bit gutted, I was hoping to chop in my 5D3 and 500F4 for a 5D4 and 100-400ii to give a bit more of a portable set up, unless the reviews are out of this world better, that's not going to happen soon!

I'm still on my mk1, which was meant to be a stop gap until the mk3 came out, but I think the 6D is a better bet for me, hopefulyl the next version of that will have better AF, as I don't have £3k+ to spend on a replacement body. (Although if I did, I'd be buying a 5Dmk4 straight away.

How many of your $ you get to the £

Have to say, the MkIV would have to be an epic upgrade for anyone to make the move from the Mkiii.

Only thing I've heard about it is, it crops 4k video, seems a bit odd and a pain in the arse.

16mm = 27.8mm etc etc

Pretty pathetic upgrade from where I'm sitting, lots of the features are crippled purely so it fits in the line up, reviews might say otherwise but it's looking like a pretty small upgrade, not worth the long wait really.

Can't help but feel Canon are losing the plot a bit, I was holding on but I think Sony is my future, a lot of colleagues already use them.
