Video footage pinched and used in TV advert

To update this.

I spoke to a solicitor, emailed the company who's advert it was.

Couple of hours later the production company called and were very sorry down the phone. Claimed that they paid someone else for my footage (So some prick is selling my footage)

Told me they'd put me in touch with the guy they bought the footage from and pay me for the footage.

'Shut up' money. Make sure you get a decent wedge. Think of a number and triple it.

I shot some video around the IOM TT course a few years back. Edited it & added some titles. No music.

Uploaded to YouTube & they took it down. Told me that a Corp in the US claimed copywrite. I argued the point, but they decided the Corp was right.

Off topic a bit. Be careful when posting news-worthy video on YT. News outlets can use it without permission and without payment (although most responsible ones do, but the rate is low) as 'of interest'.

Photographs are protected oddly enough.
