Isn't this usually one entry each? It doesn't say in the opening post.
Oh, bum, didn't know that, sorry.Leave mine up, but I'll stay out of the results....
Wow - coming up with a subject was hard work, but judging the entries was even harder. I'm deeply impressed with all the entries - I would be proud to say I'd taken any of them - I need some more misty practice!
I started to make a list of "Honourable mentions" but I found I'd listed half the thread. So - "Very Honourable Mentions" go to R1GTR for the camera-phone shot of the misty valley - great shot for a phone and I liked the huge distances covered by the mist. rst99 for The Eileans - I love the wide angle, distant mountains and big sky. Also mybrainhurts for the grass & distant valley shot - I liked the fine foreground detail and the mist leaving the treetops visible in the background.
However, this month's winner, for no other reason that I REALLY liked it, is DavidY's 'Into the Mist'. I love the way that the foreground shows the hard, harsh detail of the concrete castings, fading away along a shallow curve, with the lighthouse just visible in the background - lovely!

Blimey, wasn't expecting that, although I post quite regularly, I haven't really bothered with the monthly competition much, that will have to change now, but at least I get a month off!!
The shot was certainly an odd one, as its actually taken towards inland, the mist was so intense that you couldn't see a rather large fort (Fort Perch) not far behind teh lighthouse, most shots are taken from near Fort Perch out to sea.

I'll post a theme up for February shortly (and hopefully a mod will make it a sticky)
