Underwater case/bag for sony cybershot

Buying a relation a Sony Cybershot.

Any recommendations for a reasonably priced waterproof bag for taking pictures while snorkeling?

I wouldn't trust any of them.

Be much better off buying a waterproof compact camera.

Sadly, Sony seems to have discontinued their offering so you would need to consider another manufacturer should you wish to go that route.

Assuming you mean the small-ish compacts with the telescopic lens, then google Dicapac.

Used one for 5 or 6 years with an old Canon Powershot for snorkelling duties. Little bit of a faff to use, but worked OK once used to it, and it never leaked. Not sure I'd trust it if diving though...


Agree that modern waterproof cameras have come a long way, but that's a much bigger investment and the images/performance may be no better (even allowing for the Dicapac's extra glass in the way...).
