I have an opportunity to buy a Tamron 90mm AF SP Macro lens but I'm struggling to find out anything terribly specific about it's capabilities. It's not Di marked so I guess it's pretty old. The seller uses it on a Nikon D7000 which has it's own AF motor and has a cropped sensor.

I currently have a Nikon D5100 with no AF motor, I gather the lens is quite an old model so I'm aware it won't autofocus on my current camera body. This isn't necessarily a show-stopper as I plan to upgrade to a full-frame camera later this year.

Can anyone tell me if this lens will autofocus on a camera without an internal AF motor, and will it work correctly with a full-frame camera?

If it's an old lens it's probably screw-drive AF (ie needs motor in camera body), and will probably cover full-frame view (as all lenses did before crop sensors came along).

Thanks for that. Seller has gone quiet so reckon I'm out of luck but I'll chase him since it sounds like a nice bit of glass.
