Nice pic too, albeit without any shiny bits!

Actually, I think you've missed the point. At the beginning of the thread I wrote:

I'd like to see your interpretation of "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" Make of it what you will... post whatever you think explains that in your mind...

Rude Girl has obviously given some thought to the subject and read the lyrics (or listened to it), rather than just taking the easy option and posting a picture of something shiny (or their car looking shiny ).

Yeah yeah. I'm just commenting on the photo as aphoto; you don't have to dive in rolling your eyes. I'm not interested in the subtelties of Pink Floyd.

Fair enough... but that's a bit like not answering the question you were asked...

I've really struggled with this topic. Not finding enough time to put some ideas together hasn't helped! I'll have to submit this from a couple of months back I 'spose.

Ok so I'm bored working late tonight and it's the 29th so I thought it would be a good idea would put together a run down of all the postings so that Podie can see them all in one place and choose a winner.

Sorry if I have removed comments that people wanted to keep with their pictures, and sorry if I have missed anyone out.

Here goes!

is this the biggest single post ever? Will it break the forum?

Did you change ony of the links when you created the 'Master' page?

I had all the images cached on my machine so the pain of dial up download was minimised over time - but your collection seems to be downloading many of them again. Not sure life is long enough for this!

All I want to do is see the late entries from Joust and te51cle but it's taking forever to get there - so I hope it's worth it in the end!

Sorry about that - I just copied them from other peoples posts, didn't really consider the problems it would cause the dial up users

Not your problem really - mine for not being on broadband (mind you even then .... )

But I am puzzled as to why links are now, presumably, duplicated internally to different cached versions of the same pics. Guess it's just one of those Microsoft things.

Can I be bothered to go an work it out? I guess it depends on how much disk space it is eating up.

A task for the daylight hours I think.

I think Ted sets a HTTP expire on the whole page so when you come back and someone else has posted you see their new post.

AFAIK that makes IE think everything has expired that was related to that page. It makes sense if you think about it as you may have changed the pictures and text on a page..

Easiest way is to just hit "stop" and then right click on each picture you want to see and select "show picture".

Dobbo… thanks for doing that, made my life a lot easier!

We clearly have some brilliant minds and photographers on PH, so it was never going to be easy to pick one. I thought Rude Girl's idea of the mine was quite clever as it relates back to the lyrics in a strange way… as does Jeremyc's picture.

Fazz81's rooftop was spooky, as is imperialism2024's shot of the lamp in the rain. V6gto's flower is simply stunning, simpo two's picture has a real "what is it?" quality, yet intrigues you to keep looking at it… darthdicky's plasma ball looks brilliant, dobbo's shot is stunning, as are the numerous fantastic landscapes.

However, I loved 406's fountain, but the winner in my eyes is white_van_man

I loved the splash, the way the water captures the light.. And the fact that something so simple is so intriguing - I've found myself compelled by the picture and gone back to look at it many times since it was posted… it captured what I was looking for, and I reckon it could have been used in a Floyd album sleeve somewhere...

Anyway, time for white_van_man to pick another subject, and start another thread…
