Easiest way is to just hit "stop" and then right click on each picture you want to see and select "show picture".

True - but how do I know which ones I want to see? (Although to be fair in the example I cited the answer is obvious!)

Hmm. I need a thumbnail system ...

Blimey, that must be the biggest, longest page in the history of PH!

Well done to WVM and bad luck on getting to choose the subject for May We wait with mice poised...

I wonder if this would be a good time to draw up some rough posting outlines? Even on BB the last page took over a minute to load.

Photos are automatically resized by Ted's clever stuff to 750 pixels wide (well usually) but this is only visual; it doesn't make the files smaller. I know that not everyone has software like PhotoShop, but there'll be *some* kind of image manipulation software, even if it came free with your camera or scanner. Another option with XP is to right-click the image file and select 'resize pictures'. This is a fairly blunt implement but does the job.

My target is 750 pixels wide and a file size of around 100Kb. Learning to juggle image size and file size is a useful skill for the internet and especially if you want to make websites.

Good point Simpo... might be an idea to have a "recommended size" for the pictures...

Yep, a good point indeed. If your images are over 750px it results in them being compressed and does no favours at all to the look of the picture!

How about someone posting this as a sticky for the forum?

Great choice Pod - I liked that one as soon as I saw it too.

Can't wait to see the subject for this month. These themed threads are quite inspiring
