Digital Camera Problems....
Discussion
I have a Kodak CX6200 camera and have been having a few problems with it recently.
1. When I try to connect the camera to the computer through the EasyShare Docking Station or Printer Dock 6000, the computer cant talk to the camera. The Dock still prints the pics I want it to with out problem, is that a computer problem?
2. I have a 128MB Memory Card with over 300 pictures on it which I would like to put onto my computer, but due to the problem above it wouldn't do it. Last week I took 5 pictures without the card in the camera, and have just connected the camera directly to the computer through the USB cable and was able to download the 5 pictures to the computer. Just re-inserted the memory card and the computer says it now cant detect the camera
Anyone got any ideas? I really want to get the pics off the Card, so would buying a card reader be the way to go until I can get the camera/computer sorted?
TIA
Stuart.

You could buy a card reader safe in the knowledge that when it costs under a fiver you aren't risking too much money on it still not working.
You've spotted it. Get a card reader. USB ones are only a few quid. You may find that the card is knackered - but at least its only a few quid to find out.
Alternatively you could go down to the supermarket and shove the card into one of those photo-machines - if it can read it - then you should definitely get a card reader - if it can't - well, you've found out very inexpensively.

Possibly.
Right now I'm thinking a problem with the card. Do you have another card you could shove in and see? If another card works...then its the card. If with another card it doesn't work - then its either the camera (unlikely but unfortunately possible) or the PC. I'm assuming since you got five pics off from the cameras internal memory that the lead is working!

Card Reader arrived today
Plugged it in, stuck the card in and I could read the card and browse through it.
But I cant download the contents to the computer.
Anyone got any ideas what I might be doing wrong or how to trick the computer into downloading the data from the card.
Cheers

How have you tried "downloading" the files to the computer, it should just be a simple
Open folder files are in, Do CTRL A (highlights all files), then CTRL X (Cuts the files from that location) Open a new folder on the PC's C: somewhere then either CTRL V or right click and paste.
Job done.
