anyone used a kodak pro 1400 dye sub printer??
for the amateur photographer is it worth going down the low end dye sub road or would i be better off sticking to inkjet?
been using the 8500 for a few years now, never seen a 1400. dye sub is good for some things, but if I were you I would get the top of the range canon A4 printer, whatever it's called.
its a new machine, so you think the canon pixma ip8500 is the one to go for then? i work for the company that rhymes with kojak so i could possibly get a discount but i'm new to digital photography so will bow to your knowledge.
thanks
Nick
yes, i think that's the one, my dad has one and the quality is stunning. the problem with dye subs is that they have a problem that they can't do red very well at all. it could be that this has been sorted out now, but I haven't heard anything to suggest thats true. Have a go printing a picture of a red ferrari and see what it looks like.
yes you are right on the red issue, it can be corrected but at over £1 a print trial and error is not what you want to be doing. I think you have answered my question although if anyone else has other experiences they'd like to share i'm all ears.
My Canon i9950 is being delivered this afternoon...report to follow soon.
Martin.
