Hi all,

I’ve got two questions really.

1) I've had a problem on both Canon and Epson printers trying to centre the image, even though “Center Image” is checked, it never seems to centre it exactly; I'm always having to uncheck “Center Image” and guesstimate it. Has anyone experienced this problem?

To varying degrees I’ve found this has happened on virtually every printer I’ve ever used, I currently have a Canon PIXMA iP8500, Epson 950 and an Epson R1800. I don’t think this is a Windows or MAC issue as I’m using both.

2) Is there a way to check the focus point the camera locks onto in an image within Photoshop CS2? For instance, like you can do in the Canon software which comes with the camera and the Capture One software?

Thx in advance,

Methanol

For printing, use QImage - absolutely awesome, makes Photoshop look pants... www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/

With regards to the focus-point thing, sorry there isn't a way that I know of...

If I need precision printing I open Word, add a text box with margins set to zero and the insert the image into it. That gives me a fix on the page to 0.1mm.

"Centre" image centres in the mnargins, NOT the paper.

Most bubblejet printers have unequal margins.

Ergo you get the problems you want.

Either, define a page in the printer dialogue box that has no/equal margins, or use something else that ignores the printer margins.

Thx a lot guys for all your help, just got to get my head around Qimage; it does look good. All I need now is a solution for the Mac, anybody?

Hi Pod, yes it has. I've been trying to make it to the meets for the past few months, unfortunatly been a bit busy. How's things with you? Hope to see you at the June meet.
