Some quickfire shots I took of a certain PH'ers Noble recently..... we had about 1 hour before sundown so not as well prep'd as I'd like but pretty happy with the locations; will certainly be giving them a try again:

Nice stuff!

Is it me or is there a bit of distortion in some of these? Were they taken on a wide lens? Some of the horizontal lines are a bit curved and it makes them a tiny bit odd to look at!

Its the actually location as well. There are some shots where the car is level but the background isn't; ie the angle of the ground is different to that of the joins on the wall. Its only a little bit (1-2 degree's) but it's there and therefore distracting. I was also hampered but the fact that the "box" that we parked the car in was quite small - most of these shots were taken as far from the car as I could reasonably get.

Still, I quite like the location and will be back some time.

They are all very, very good but IMHO the first one is sensational. Beautiful colouring and post-production work.

It almost looks like a move still/promotional shot.

Referring back to someones thread about going on a shoot with "skilled" PH members - I'd love to observe how you take pictures like this. If you ever volunteer, I'd be first in the queue!

I've really, REALLY tried to make that not sound rude/full of double entrendres! Things like "I'd like to watch you", "I'd put my hand up" etc all didn't make it.

It's just a shame Phil's car is the wrong colour! (Private joke)

Yep looking again I can see a couple of places where the angles are a bit funny - maybe with more time you could compensate for this by posititioning the car/camera differentyl, but I guess you were pushed for time from what you said.

Location does look good though, especially like the first one, those windows really do it for me.

TD,
The location in no.1 is great, but I thought maybe there were a couple of places that were too distracting.
I took the liberty....I hope you don't mind.

Nice edit - though I was expecting you to 'correct' the colour of the car as well ...

I thought about making it turquoise but I didn't want to turn Phil suicidal with jelousy!

I actually pondered removing that Martin - decided in the end that I liked the fact that the signs were slightly old and battered; kind of gave a sense of place.
One of the issues with the shots in the car park was that it was getting pretty dull and I actually couldn't see very well through the viewfinder (had a polariser on too). Whole shoot was probably only 1 hour start to finish in the end.

I wonder if you like this:

Don't get me wrong mate, I like them all. As you know, so much about photography is personnal choice. My wife and I can never agree on the photos we like I'm deleting out of focus shots and she wants them on the wall! I wouldn't get down about someone saying they don't like this or that, that's thier problem
Keep up the good work, maybe one day you can photograph a Noble that is a good colour (Sorry, Phil, couldn't resist)

Martin.

Nice work as usual Mr Demon. The classy locations you find are always a wonder! I’m sure a longer bash at a shoot will produce even better stuff.

As for the car colour, well Martin (Stevie Wonder) Jenkins does have an individual taste. I’d recommend if you do take pictures of it you pick a strong filter…or leave the lens cap on

To be fair, it looks great in the flesh.

AHAH! I wondered when you'de rise to the bait

What's this 'looks good in the flesh' sh1t? You saying it's crap in the photos? Wanna fight? Huh?

To be fair, yours looks lovely too(what Noble doesn't?) it just looks so common!

I've been on a Linux course this week so a good spank round me head with a spanner would be some nice relief!

I really do think your car colour looks better in the flesh! It must be something about the light moving over it that still photography just doesn’t capture. I’m not saying it looks bad at all in your pics (I love the beach shots) it just looks better for real.

Ouch, thats a low blow I'd love to photograph your car but alas I think it's a bit far away for "a quick few shots after work on a Tuesday" My style's somewhat different to Matt's.....

Couldn't agree more, Phil. It's almost a flip, but not quite. As you can see from some of the photos, it's blue in hard light going much greener as the light level drops.

Martin.

PS - did I tell you that it was originaly ordered in dark blue and changed later?
