Just got back from the States today and I have picked a few photos that have jumped out of the stack. We started in Sacramento and ended up in Vegas via Yosemite. Fantastic trip, Vegas was a bit hot though at 107 deg! We had the red Mustang in the photos as our hire car and it was a peach to drive. Anyhoo here are the pics…

Nice one, BBB

I must get back to Vegas (withdrawal symptoms!) Where did you stay? I was in the Stratosphere the first time, and New York, New York! the second. Which rides did you go on? I liked the Nascar Cafe ride the best, 0-60 in 3 seconds then out a hole in the building, a sharp left and down through the pavement into a loop the loop etc...excellent!

Did you see any bears in Yosemite? I didn't and was really disappointed. Still, the scenery made up for it. Great shot of Half Dome, but best for me is the young person with the N***n.

Martin.

Thanks Guys,

Martin, we stayed at the Stardust and at the MGM to break it up a bit. We got married in vegas four years ago and stayed at the MGM then, so it has good memories. Vegas has changed alot in four years though, the family image they were once aiming for has gone out of the window, there are lot's of european style bars and clubs now, it's alot more adult. Had a great time though we visited most of the big hotels and saw most of the attractions, not really one for rides, although we did the Star Trek experience

Nick.

Some lovely photos there, brings back memories of when I did all that area a few years ago with my parents - shame I only had my film SLR then as I would have taken so many more with digital. Still got through 13 films in 2 weeks then though...

It's one of the 'must do before I die' things. And when you're there go to Maverick Helicopters and do thier Grand Canyon trip. WOW

Here's one of Yosemite Falls to give you an idea of scale, everything is bigger over there!

Brings back some memories there!!

Been to Yosemite and Vegas, both excellent places and I would really love to return to them both. Vegas I class as 'Disney land for Adults', it's so tacky it's great!

Yosemite we camped at for 3 nights and had bears right by our tents all 3 nights sniffing for food. One night woken to one by our tent then being chased off by some guys in swags, a scary moment! Did you get up to Vernal and Nevada Falls? A strenuous hike but well worth the effort for the peace and quiet at the top.

Did a 1 hour helicopter flight over Grand Canyon, that was awesome and well worth doing if you ever go to GC.

Cool, glad it's stirring some memories. We never did any of the big hikes, not enough time.

Here are some more pics...
