Here are a few of my LM pics... didn't really concentrate on trying to capture "proper" images due to being pi55ed half the time and driving the other half. Was a great, great fun though.

All the race shots were taken at night, and therefore compromised because: almost exclusively shot through catch fence with no flash, slow lense & poor high ISO performance (lots of noise). Hence I've ended up with somewhat more "abstract" images....

Sounded wonderful...

These were everywhere. Still one of my favourites (although perhaps not this colour)

A nice pair

Turned heads everywhere we went. Rare even at LM

I had the opportunity to use a private test track. Honest.

My favourite set of Le Mans pics yet

Favourites include the Ford GT driving the streets, the Aston pit garage and the last (or should that be 'lost' ) pic.

Not sure how to word this but...

what is your secret for getting such great colouring and such even exposure?

Obviously - if it is a secret you'd rather keep it that way! But if there's a whizzy tip for Photoshop you'd be able to share?

Or is it down to a great lens?

(None of the above precludes the obvious, which is you sheer ability of course!)

Ah, can see them now, very nice ones. I'm not sure whether the high ISO and resulting noise doesn't make the night shots more interesting.

You know what, I think I agree - some of the shots I have I have actually added noise to as the grainy look is, well, cool. I'd still rather have the choice to get lovely smooth images straight from the camera and then add noise if I wanted but all in all the effect isn;t too displeasing. Shooting through the catch fence still an issue though....

Thanks! Nothing particularly special really, a little tweak in curves and subtle adjustment in levels. D100 + Sigma 18-50mm lense so nothing really special.

Me too! Alas, handheld over the grandstand; I wasn't even looking through the viewfinder - just set exposure (-0.3EV), aperture priority at max aperture and guesswork on pointing the camera.

I wonder if, when flicking through the pics, that would have been sent in the direction of the Recycle Bin straight away without the noise there..
