Has any got or used one of these small inkjet printer that you can plug your camera straight into?

e.g. http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=84987

The local Tesco are selling them at a reasonable price

For that sort of price you can get something that will cope with A4 quite nicely, for example the Epson R300, to the side of my desk at the mo (£80-ish).

I would have thought they were worth it only for the portability aspect.

I won one of these in a competition a couple of months ago. A bit more expensive than the one you are looking at, but very good quality. Can even run it in my car with an adaptor and take it to events. Only 6 x 4" print outs though. Won a recommendation in PC Pro a couple of months back in their Photo Printer review

I have to think that apart from portability, these little printers have no place. For the same money you can get a very good A4 printer, with which you can just about squeeze 4 6x4 prints onto a sheet of A4.

If it's just prints your're after, then sending them to PhotoBox etc is the best option IMHO, and you don't have a printer to buy, nor paper, nor ink cartridges.

My suggestion is to make sure you look at printouts from the printer first. If that Epson PictureMate is the same as the one we have where I work, the photos look like sh!t... every other printer we have looks better, even the ones that cost half the price.
