Well, looks like there a few thunderstorms on the way tonight, may be a good chance for some lightning photo's....

Well, we could do with some storms here. Last time we had them (with Mrs Beano fretting over my standing outside with a metal tripod!) I was pointing everywhere in the sky apart from the direction of the storm!

whats a ball park setting to use, last time i tried all i got was a screen of white with the even whiter lightning strike in.

I last tried out F22 for 30 seconds-ish at a time (assuming digital, otherwise starting thinking about reciprocity failure). Keep to low ASA figures - the marvellously low 200 for Cluddites

TBH you just have to experiment, but I'd start at small aperture and work my way bigger if necessary. The highlights are probably going to just blow anyway

Not bloody happening here anyhow... I do like a good storm, they amaze me and also earn me more money
