I'm going to be back in the UK for most of August (allthough the Noble is staying here) so was wondering if there are any meetings planned I could gatecrash. I can't make the weekend of the 5th/6th because I'll be at Brands for the World Superbikes, but would love to meet up with anyone on other dates. I'll be based near Heathrow.

Martin.

It's my birthday on the 25th, so if you are in Woodbridge, then come and have a pint.

If yuo can make as far as Suffolk, you'd be very welcome on the PH Roadshow stand (sans car) - see www.phea.co.uk for three events in August. I'm sure you'll find them good opportunities for that lens of yours!

Look on events, meetings and travel as there's a Virginia Waters meet on 17th August. Loads of nice cars!

Well, depends on what you're after, my calendar for August consists of:

Autoglym Drift Championship at Silverstone or GTM Open Day at Bruntingthorpe or World Superbikes at Brands Hatch on Saturday 6th
Red Bull Air Race at Longleat on Sunday 7th
Rally Day at Castle Combe or 1000km of Silverstone on Sat 13th
750MC at Mallory Park on Sun 14th
British Superbikes at Silverstone on Sat/Sun 20/21
750MC at Silverstone Sat/Sun 27/28

There's just not enough damn weekends in August it seems and Silverstone being just up the road is too damn tempting.

Edited to add - Re-reading I guess you mean PH meets rather than race meets. D'oh.

Well, if you're based near Heathrow, I'm in the Heathrow office (Clockhouse Roundabout) most Tuesdays so if you're at a loose end one Tuesday evening let me know if you want to grab a beer.

Dobbo, let me know if you don't get tickets - if I do, I'm sure I could find space in the car. I applied for a car ticket, as did my Father (I'll probably tell him he did tonight ).

Yep, tough choice. And as I'm going to Brunters on the Saturday I can't even make it for the quali. You'll have to make sure you post up plenty of photos Martin so those of us who can't make it can see what we missed.

Cheers mate, I've got 5 of us lined up to go on a car ticket as well, so would look a bit dodgy if I went on my own!

I reckon the thing about it being a lottery is crap - I bet tickets go to the people who say they are going to bring a full car load.

There's a sheep fair in Cumbria in August - Lot's of... um... sheep. Could well be worth the 600 mile round trip - so I hear.

Chances are there'll be ferret racing too though which is always good for a laugh. At the annual show in Langholm when I was living up that way, they had a sheep tossing competition...
